Mainstream media perspective

John McCain recently passed away in America. For those who don’t know, he is being celebrated in the mainstream media as a war hero, someone who was captured in Vietnam and heroically escaped. What is the real truth about this controversial man?

The Other Side

There’s something called neoconservatism. It’s the belief that America should implement regime change in various parts of the world. It is a violent ideology (Amphiist is pro-peace). Neoconservatism believes that America should topple Syria’s Bashar Al Assad and change Syria into a democracy. Right now, Assad is a Shia Muslim (Alawite, to be exact), in charge of a secular country which has been ravaged by American bombs. Of course, the real reason is not democracy, but…oil.

John McCain never met a war he didn’t like. Although the obvious reaction people have to such statement is we shouldn’t criticize the dead, I can honour that sentiment; however, what about the millions of children, especially brown children, killed by McCain’s neoconservative policies? He once joked about bombing Iran. Iran and Russia are two countries which are often criticized and hysterically written about in the mainstream press, which is all you need to know that they are actually credible countries. Not that they are perfect. Both Assad and Putin treat journalists in a way which should not be tolerated by people who care about human rights. But not everyone is lucky enough to have a leader as emotionally intelligent as Justin Trudeau.
