There are many sides fighting to influence our world view
We need to listen to all of them (free speech)
Including what the mainstream media refuses to cover
The rest of us are entitled to our perspectives:
Shia Muslims, men’s rights, socialists, etc.

Mainstream media perspective
RooshV, or Daryush Valizadeh, is an extremely dangerous man. RooshV is a men’s right activist who writes books about how men can best pick up women. RooshV wrote a satirical article about how rape should be legalized on private property. The media is pretending that this article was meant to be taken literally and that RooshV is a pro-rape advocate. According to the media, RooshV possesses the Nazi mindset, which creates in-groups and outgroups. However, there is a lot more to RooshV than the media talks about. And how they talk about him engenders danger that needs to be discussed.

The Other Side
RooshV points out the attacks waged against him when he tried to lectures to his like-minded followers in Canada, were Islamophobic in nature. Roosh’s teachings are not as extreme as what is found in the Quran, but there is certainly overlap. When extreme feminists try to destroy Roosh, they threaten the rights of ALL Muslims. Roosh’s father is a Shia Muslim, and that informs the context in which Roosh teaches. If it is our responsibility to act as global citizens, rather than nationalistic ones, then it behooves these radicals to honour the culture in which he was raised. There is another danger to treating Roosh the way these extreme feminists and the political/media infrastructure treat him. They make him a martyr. If they left him alone, his audience would be comprised of mere dozens. So if a person is against his teachings, the best thing to do is to ignore him, as long as what he teaches is legal. The bigger danger is to the appreciation of Islamic culture Canada pretends to feel. Let’s stop being hypocritical, Canadians. Do we really accept multiculturalism?
