Many people are fascinated by the Kardashian family. The matriarch of the family, Kris Kardashian Jenner, is one of the more interesting members of that group. She is married to Bruce Jenner, the gold medal athlete from the 1970s. People wonder about the nature of their marriage. He seems to be very submissive toward her, and largely checked out of the relationship, preferring to focus instead on golf and other activities that he engages in alone. Although lately on the show, some cracks seem to have appeared under the surface of their marriage. On the most recent show of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kris complained to her daughters Khloe and Kourtney that Bruce was a different person when Kris and he were alone. We saw several clips on the show of his being dictatorial about getting ready to leave for a function. But I think I would go crazy having to wait around for the Kardashian women myself!
Another cause of tension in the relationship between the two Jenners is that by her own admission, revealed in her memoirs earlier this year, Kris Jenner admitted that while she was married to Robert Kardashian (one of the defence lawyers for O.J. Simpson during that famous trial) she had an affair with another man. On the show, she recently met up with this man again, leading to conjecture over whether or not she would cheat on Bruce the way she did on her former husband, who is now deceased. Maybe they are headed for divorced, Bruce and Kris? Who knows?
Many people judge Kris Kardashian Jenner because she reveals in great detail in her memoirs the sexual details of her adultery. This, plus her revelation that she had told her daughter Kim Kardashian that it was all right to have sex when she was 14, makes many think that Kris is a sexual villain, that she does not have her children’s best interests at heart, that she is interested only in fame and making money. Many contend that she has passed on these qualities to Kim. I have read where several people like Khloe and Kourtney to varying degrees, but feel that Kim and Kris are sexual villains.
However, even Kris’s fiercest critics admit that she is a branding wonder. After all, Kim’s only real claim to fame is that she made a sex tape. Now she is famous for just being famous. Kris has capitalised on Kim’s tragic mistake by turning it into a popular series of reality shows, merchandising opportunities, etc. There have even been rumours to the effect that Kris bought the video herself of Kim with Ray J! It is rumours like these that make many wonder exactly what Kris (and Kim’s) agenda is. What do you think, is Kris Kardashian Jenner a branding hero, or is she a sexual villain?
