There are a lot of Middle Eastern students in Halifax. In that culture, they do not date for the most part like Canadians do. However, there are some young men who would like to have a Canadian girlfriend. Canadian girls often like Canadian guys, probably because there is no language barrier. And let’s admit it, there is a certain amount of racism in Halifax. However, there are some very good reasons why Canadian girls should date guys from the Middle East. One is that they usually come from strong families, and a good boy listens to his father and mother. Of course, sometimes a Middle Eastern parent wants their student who is visiting Canada to go home and marry a Middle Eastern girl. But for those who do not mind, I think more Canadians should date Persians, Arabs, etc. Another reason is that Middle Eastern men respect women more, especially the younger generation that we are talking about here. They do things that protect women. They do not go out and get drunk every weekend. I know of many situations where a young guy in Halifax will travel to Vancouver, for example, to help his sister fly back home to Saudi Arabia. It is the rare Canadian who is that protective of his sister, although I know there are some. Another good reason for Canadian girls to date Middle Eastern guys is that they usually have access to money. A girl does not have to be a gold digger in order to want her partner to have enough money to take care of their needs. I get depressed if I see a girl with a baby and a stroller on the bus, because I think if you have a baby, you should be driving the baby around in a car. It’s so much more comfortable. One person should never be attracted to another person because of the size of their bank account, but we would be lying to ourselves if we said it is not a factor in relationships. Also, there is nothing wrong with a man deciding whom he wants to be with based on looks. It is just biology. Middle Eastern guys also have a much better sense of humour than Canadian guys. They like to socialize, friendship means a lot to them, and they like playing games (the good kind, not the bad kind!), and they are more friendly than a lot of people give them credit for. Imagine if you were in their country, lonely, homesick, and needing a hug. I also think guys from different cultures should hang out together and learn from each more, too, because there are cool things about Canadian guys that Middle Easterners could learn from. But that’s the subject of another blog! The bottom line is that I think everyone would benefit if Canadian girls gave Middle Eastern guys a chance.
I just published a book entitled He Talks To Me, Too. This is based on the true story of my life, but it’s fictionalized. I’m proud of the way I weave fantasy and reality in the novel. If you have ever been discriminated against due to your race, or sexual orientation, or weight, or any other issue in your life, and especially if you want to grow closer to God, then this is the book for you! I’m very pleased with how it turned out. It’s available on Amazon, at this link: http://www.amazon.com/He-Talks-To-Too-ebook/dp/B00CQO0PYY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369246357&sr=8-1&keywords=He+talks+to+me+too!
The novel is about a girl who wants a deeper relationship with God, and joins an organized religion when missionaries come to her home and interest her (and her mother) in their Church. The island in the novel is a metaphor for the religion itself. Catherine, the heroine, learns that she does not qualify to be on the island because of an excerpt from the Handbook of Policies and Procedures, which states that you cannot have a certain physical abnormality. When Catherine goes swimming, her head grows to ten times its normal size. This is an indirect way of saying that she is discriminated against. Later in the book, when she gets wet, her skin becomes a darker colour, and she becomes obesely overweight. So the Church leaders discriminate against her in a way that almost seems like a conspiracy among them, because of her body, something over which she absolutely has no control! They gradually treat her worse and worse, through lying and sheer cruelty until finally one of the Church leaders tells her that she will never receive mercy! This is too much for Catherine to bear, and she breaks. She does something that she will regret for the rest of her life, but after descending lower than she ever thought she would, she begins to recover and comes to her own realizations about her relationship with God.

If you really think middle eastern men respect women more than Canadian men, you are nuts, blind, need to get out more out all of the above.
